Art Exhibit-Meet Artist Jane Kiskaddon

May 10 @ 4:00 pm - 5:45 pm

The Sonoma Valley Regional Library is hosting an exhibition of paintings by Jane Kiskaddon from May 1 to 31. The public is invited to meet the artist at a reception on Friday May 10th from 4:00 pm to 5:45 pm in the library’s forum room. Light refreshments will be served. The exhibition will be available to view for the entire month of May during open hours when the Forum room is not in use.

Jane Kiskaddon grew up in San Francisco and attended the San Francisco Art Institute. She has been working as an artist for the past 50 years, selling her paintings in art shows and galleries. Her inspiration has come, in part, from her travels in an Airstream Trailer. Jane says that two places have had a huge effect on her imagination: “Salvation Mountain by the Salton Sea in California and Elephante, a partially underground house in Arizona.” More recently her inspiration has come from Sonoma’s “beautiful rolling hills, ranches and vineyards.” She believes that it is important to make mistakes and that “Creativity happens when you can concentrate and let go at the same time.” You will find examples of her work on the web at janekiskaddon.com.

Jane’s exhibition at the library is part of an art series organized by local artist Aparna Sinha with the assistance and support of Cathy Coleman and the Friends of the Sonoma Valley Library.
