Our Spring Book Sale Begins May 27
Spring is in the air and the next book sale is purported to be BIG. There will be something for everyone, from great summer reading to gifts for birthdays or any occasion. On Saturday May 30, non-profit representatives, all educators and staff are invited to stock their libraries with free books—see Dave Dobbins at the sale. There will be a great program in the main area of the library at 2:00pm.  For details see our calendar.

Join us for a celebration of Latino music and culture
Our "Dia de Los Muertos" (Day of the Dead) celebration is set for November 1 from 11am-3 pm at the Sonoma Valley Library.  This event is free and open to the public, with bilingual volunteers on site.

  • Bring the Entire Family for an Afternoon Concert and Dancing
  • Celebrate Latino Music and Culture
  • Contribute to an Altar-Bring Photos/Poems or Supplies will be Available
  • Refreshments-Pan de Muerto, Cookies and Mexican Hot Chocolate
  • Children’s Arts & Crafts
  • Introduction to Library Services & How to Obtain a Library Card!

Jazz trio Charged Particles at the Library on Saturday

See you at the Book Sale!

High summer in the Valley...a perfect time to grab some books to top off your summer reading adventure.  We've got a super selection of books for everybody's pleasure, from escapist fiction to practical how-to's, to downright decadent coffee table "visual feast" books, plus about everything in between, including CDs, Audiobooks, DVDs, VHS, and now, also, vinyl records!

Nothing is priced at more than two dollars, and all students grades K-12 receive one free selection. ALSO, bring your filled out purchase receipt from the sale to Crisp Bakery (across the street from the library) and 25% of your coffee/pastry purchase will go the the Friends of the Sonoma Valley Library.

The sale starts on Wednesday, August 20th, with a member only preview from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (memberships available throughout the sale), then the sale then opens to the public from 3:30 p.m. to 7: 30 p.m. 

On Thursday, August 21st and Friday, August 22nd, the sale is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Saturday August 23rd from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  During the book sale on Saturday, Charged Particles will be performing in the library starting at 11 a.m.  Charged Particles crosses stylist boundaries and blends multiple traditions to create vital new sounds in the electric jazz arena. The trio's repertoire blends jazz styles with elements from Latin music, classical music, funk, and more.
