Children's Book Sale!
Saturday, April 23 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The sale will be held under the covered area at the library entrance. Only children’s books will be available for purchase.  Books are priced to sell at 25 cents, 50 cents, and $1.00. Cash only, please!

Volunteer Opportunities with Friends of the Library
Looking to support our local library? The Friends of the Library are currently seeking volunteers for the following roles:
SECRETARY: The Secretary is the note taker for Friends of the Library board meetings (typically held monthly), drafting minutes and contacting members with minutes and agendas. 
BOOK SALES COORDINATOR(S):  This role oversees and coordinates the dates of the (typically) quarterly book sales and mini book sales, as well as coordinating volunteer recruitment for sorting donating items and book sales. 
VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR:  This role serves as contact (via our website) for interested parties who would like to volunteer for The Friends of the Sonoma Valley Library, and connects them to the appropriate opportunity, e.g. Book Sales, Outreach, Newsletter, Book Groups, etc.

Holiday Partnership with Meals on Wheels and Friends of the Library
Books make the holidays brighter! We recently received this thank you note from the local Meals on Wheels coordinator: 
"A heartfelt Thank-You from Meals on Wheels to the Friends of the Library for the donation of paperbacks as holiday gifts to our clients. We will be delivering a fabulous holiday meal on Fri 12/24 to 45 home-bound seniors. They will be receiving a gift from a local group plus the book plus other holiday goodies. Thanks for your part in bringing holiday cheer to local seniors."

Book Sale on November 21
Rain or Shine! Friends of the Library Book Sale will be held in the Sonoma Valley Library parking lot on Sunday, November 21, 2021 from 10:00am to 3:00pm.  If it is raining, the sale will be held on the covered area at the library entrance. Many categories of books and vinyl LPs will be available for purchase. Hardback books are $2 each, paperback books $1 each and LPs $1 per disc. Books will be restocked throughout the sale.
MASKS ARE MANDATORY. Credit cards encouraged. Cash accepted. No checks will be accepted. Bring your own bags, please. Street parking only. No restroom facilities available.  See you at the Library!

Book Donation Day: Thursday October 7
Book donations will be accepted on Thursday, October 7 from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. in the parking lot behind the Sonoma Valley Libary.  We gratefully accept donations of books in very good condition, CDs, DVDs, and vinyl records.  We can no longer accept the following: dirty or damaged books, textbooks, encyclopedias, library discards, magazines, books on audio cassette, or VHS tapes. Thanks for supporting your local library!

Annual Meeting of the SVFOL will be held on October 14
The Annual Meeting of the Sonoma Valley Friends of the Library will take place on Thursday, October 14, at 3:00, via Zoom. The Zoom link will be posted on the SVFOL web site a day or two before the meeting. Election of officers will take place at the meeting. Only one Board member term is open this year, the position of Secretary. 
If you are interested in the position or have a suggestion for a candidate, please notify Marge Thomas, margemthomas@gmail.com. Members of the Nominating Committee are Robin Kunde, Karen Sanders, and Marge. Nominations will also be taken from the floor during the meeting.
We hope to see you “there”.
