The Friends hold four book sales each year, along with several "mini" book sales. We hope to see you there! All books, DVDs, CDs and vinyl LPs at our sales are donations, not library discards. See the Friends Event Calendar for the details on our next sale, and take a moment to view our book sale code of conduct, which keeps our sales enjoyable for all.
Proceeds from our book sales generate the largest source of funds which serve our mission in making the Library a state-of-the-art center for the community. The ongoing funding of programs, additions to collections, magazine subscriptions, purchases of furniture and even a coffee machine, makes our library a warm and inviting place to be.
How to Donate: Book donations can be deposited in the ‘donations’ shed at the rear of the library during hours that the library is open. A library staff member will provide a receipt if required. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent the law allows. Please note: We gratefully accept donations of books in very good/excellent condition, CDs, DVDs, and vinyl records. We can no longer accept the following: dirty or damaged books, textbooks, encyclopedias, library discards, magazines, books on audio cassette, or VHS tapes. If you have torn, damaged, or dirty books, we are advised by Sonoma County Waste Management that you can put them in the blue recycling bin if they are soft cover, or if the hard covers have been removed and discarded. Thank you!
Are you a member? If so, you'll have early access on the opening day of the books sale, and can shop from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. before the sale opens to the public. During the sale, all children, toddlers through high school can choose one free book. At the end of the sale teachers and non-profits take the remaining books.
