Next Book Donation Date: The next Friends of the Library Book Donation Day is Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 9 AM - 10:45 AM at the back parking lot of the Sonoma Valley Library. We are especially in need of books for children! Please wear a mask and unload your books at the table provided. Limit 6 boxes or bags. Books must be checked in by a volunteer (no early bird drop offs). Please see below for the kinds of donations that are accepted, and please do not leave books in the library book drop or at the library front door. Look for our table in the back parking lot near the shed. Thank you!
Book donations to the Friends of the Sonoma Valley Library are currently accepted on a limited basis. Please call the Library at (707)996-5217 for the next upcoming donation date, and they will then give you a phone contact for our book donation volunteer. We cannot currently accept book donations outside of designated donations dates/times.
Why Donate? Thank you for you interest in donating books to the Friends of the Sonoma Valley Library. Proceeds from our book sales generate the largest source of funds which serve our mission in making the Library a state-of-the-art center for the community.
How to Donate: (IMPORTANT: see update above on donation process during COVID-19 pandemic). A library staff member will provide a receipt if required. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent the law allows.
Please note: We gratefully accept donations of books in very good/excellent condition, CDs, DVDs, and vinyl records. We can no longer accept the following: dirty or damaged books, textbooks, encyclopedias, library discards, magazines, books on audio cassette, or VHS tapes. If you have torn, damaged, or dirty books, we are advised by Sonoma County Waste Management that you can put them in the blue recycling bin if they are soft cover, or if the hard covers have been removed and discarded. Thank you!
